One of the biggest surprises of 2012 was The Walking Dead episodic series from Telltale Games, many were unsure how the game would turn out, since their less than stellar interpretation of Jurassic Park. Yet Telltale were able to create one of the best narrative experiences in gaming history, they did such an amazing job they also won the inaugural Game of the Year at Analog Addiction. So to put it plainly, we loved it and we want more.

We have been told that a Season 2 of the series will take place and Telltale Games had also stated that players should keep their game saves, possibly to collaborate with our previous decisions? Well from the very little information we know about Season 2, it seems Telltale Games will make sure our saves affect the stories that we encounter in the future.

Redbull UK recently conducted an interview with the CEO of Telltale Games’ Dan Connors, in the interview Connors states the studio is already in early brainstorming stages for the upcoming season.

“Right now we are just starting to form the concept for season two. This all remains to be seen but we are definitely figuring out how to carry the saves over.”

As someone who thoroughly enjoyed the experience Telltale Games provided, this information has me very excited. The idea of carrying our saves, with all of our heart-breakingly difficult choices into Season 2 is intriguing. Could this lead into more previous character appearing in Season 2? What main choices will play a vital part to the story? This is all speculation, but the ideas have me eagerly awaiting Telltale’s next installment.

If you haven’t played Season 1 (What’s stopping you?) we have reviews of every episode for your reading pleasure (1, 2, 3, 4, 5). For more information on Season 2 of The Walking Dead, keep it tuned to Analog Addiction.
