Even though the highly anticipated Watch_Dogs hasn’t been released, Ubisoft are already planning for the next ten years of the franchise.

In an interview with the Guardian, Senior Producer Dominic Guay spoke about Ubisoft’s intentions to build a strong core for the franchise over the next decade. The topic was discussed when he was asked about Bungie’s ten year plan for Destiny.

“Honestly that’s what we’re doing too. Here’s the way we think about it: even if we change our minds mid-course or after shipping Watch Dogs and say ‘scratch that, we’ll do something else’, the planning helps to make a strong core.” Guay followed stating, “If there’s a clear long-term plan, you’ll have stronger characters, the universe will be more coherent.”

It seems unless Watch_Dogs sales are below what Ubisoft is expecting, we will be seeing a lot more from the franchise in the future. Ubisoft has been known to extend life to their franchises, most prominent would be the Assassin’s Creed franchise that has now turned into a successful annual release.

Watch_Dogs will release on November 22 for PC, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Wii U. The game will also release on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, yet no official dates have been announced.
