Ubisoft Montreal have been consulting with an established real security company, to try and provide an authentic hacking experience in their highly anticipated release of Watch_Dogs.

Ubisoft Montreal Senior Producer Dominic Guay recently told Joystiq they are consulting with Kaspersky Lab, who specialize in antivirus and security. The studio forwards their concept ideas to the company for feedback, these criticisms are then used to help game development.

“They have really hardcore experts there on hacking,” Guay spoke regarding Kaspersky Lab’s expertise in the field. “We send them some of our designs and we ask them feedback on it, and it’s interesting to see what gets back. Sometimes they say, ‘Yeah, that’s possible, but change that word,’ or, ‘That’s not the way it works.'”

This feedback is is used in conjunction with Ubisoft developers, to try and give hacking a realistic approach.

Watch_Dogs follows Aiden Pearce, a vigilante who has harnessed the ability of hacking technology to further his goals and avoid prosecution. These abilities allow him to access banking information, hack security cameras and manipulate the world around him.

Ubisoft Montreal will release Watch_Dogs on November 19 for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii U and PC. With the game also confirmed for PlayStation 4, with strong signs pointing to the game appearing on the next generation of Xbox.
