Last month THQ held an auction to sell their main assets, studios and IP’s. However every asset in their collection was not sold. Former THQ President Jason Rubin hinted thatThere will be a separate process to sell off the back catalog and IP”, but THQ have now confirmed these details.

The auction will contain each unsold intellectual property, in a process which could be finished as early as mid-May. Those interested in the purchase of the remaining THQ assets much make an initial bid by April 1, with final bids due April 15. Once the highest bidder has been found, these transitions will submitted to court to approve the final sale in May.

THQ still has a large amount of titles under their umbrella, including titles such as Darksiders, Red Faction, De Blob, Homeworld, Destroy all Humans!, Worms, Supreme Commander and many more. We have heard Platinum Games are interested in the Darksiders IP, though it could be a few months until we find out if they decided to pursue the franchise.

THQ sold a number of assets in the first auction including Saints Row, Metro, WWE, Company of Heroes and the right to publish South Park: Stick of Truth.
