Curve Digital has announced that the PlayStation release of The Swapper for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita has been delayed and will now release August 5 in North America, and August 6 in Europe.

Hello! The Swapper is now due out on PlayStation formats on August 5th/6th! Sorry for the long wait, it will be worth it, we promise. — Curve Digital (@CurveDigital) June 18, 2014

The Swapper for PlayStation platforms was originally scheduled to launch June 24, but has been delayed to allow “extra time to polish the Vita and PS3 versions of the game.”

Curve Digital managing director, Jason Perkins, further elaborated on why this delay was necessary.

“We’ve been able to really throw the power of the PS4 at the game, but we also want to ensure that when the game comes out, it looks great and runs well at 30 FPS on hardware that, in the case of the PlayStation 3, is over seven years old.”

When The Swapper does release it will take full advantage of Cross-Buy, meaning buying it on one PlayStation platform will also give you access to the title on the other two PlayStation platforms.

Analog Addiction reviewed the original PC release of The Swapper and we loved it, praising the intelligent puzzle design and its ability to make us question our own morale’s.
