Two new Heroes and one new Villain have been announced for the Star Wars Battlefront roster.

The two new Hero characters are Princess Leia and Han Solo, while the latest Villain is Emperor Palpatine; with each Hero/Villain character has unique abilities that can be utilised in battle. The new roster additions join the previously revealed list of Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader and Boba Fett.

Princess Leia will play a leadership role in Star Wars Battlefront, which will allow her to support her team with buffs and allowing players who spawn close to her to spawn as Alderaan Honour Guards. Leia will also be able to use her Trooper Bane ability to shoot and kill stormtroopers in one shot, while delivering large amounts of damage to Villains and the ability to temporarily stun them. Leia will also posses an Enhanced Squad Shield, allowing her to stop Force abilities and deliver her Trooper Bane technique through the shield.

Han Solo is the opposite of Leia, instead of being a leader Han is designated as a “lone wolf” character. Han will deal a great deal of offensive damage with his Rapid Fire skill, which allows Han to deliver unlimited Blaster fire for a few seconds without his weapon overheating. Han can also build up and release power to deliver effective damage against vehicles, alongside a Shoulder Charge power for quick offensive and defensive moves.

The latest Villain to be included in Star Wars Battlefront is Emperor Palpatine, who is deceptively mobile. DICE has tried to juggle the fact Palpatine acts like he is weak and fragile in the Star Wars films, and implement those motifs in the game. Palpatine can use his Force Lightning to deal lots of damage to troops at close range, with his Chain Lightning ability allowing for a greater area of effect to enemies in all directions. Palpatine also has a Force Dash ability, allowing him to move extremely fast across the battlefield.

Star Wars Battlefront will release November 17 in North America and November 19 in Australia and Europe for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Analog Addiction recently participated in the Star Wars Battlefront beta and you can watch our impressions here, and a new TV commercial was also recently released.
