Bethesda are definitely not on PlayStation 3 users Christmas card list at this point, with performance issues since launch and now the prolonged wait for Dawnguard, Skyrim has not had a good showing on the Sony console. After dodging the question for almost a week now, Bethesda has come out today to announce that patch 1.7 will finally be coming to the PlayStation 3 version of Skyrim. Thought patch 1.6 was skipped altogether, both patches will be rolled together in one decent update.
PlayStation 3 owners, this can be you soon…
On Bethesda Game Studios’ Official Twitter Account, these details were released regarding the time frame of this patch being released. “1.7 title update for Skyrim expected to release this Thurs. on… PS3 (N. America). PS3 (Europe) release next week.” PlayStation 3 is behind a great deal, with Xbox 360 and PC already receiving patch 1.6 and 1.7 at this time.
With these two sets of patches combining, PlayStation 3 owners will gain access to mounted combat and also a variety of fixes for various issues, which will be greatly appreciated.
Could this possibly lead into the release of Dawnguard? Well after Bethesda stating they were having technical trouble with the PlayStation 3 version, will it even come at all?
