Xbox and developer Crystal Dynamics have announced Bobby Tahouri will be creating the score for Rise of the Tomb Raider.
“It’s been an honor working on such a storied franchise,” Tahouri said. “Lara is someone who embodies an indomitable spirit, and crafting music to accompany her on her journey has been a fantastic experience.”
Bobby Tahouri is best known for his work on Game of Thrones, Iron Man 2 and Despicable Me 2. Rise of the Tomb Raider will also feature some procedurally generated music during stealth combat events. Tahouri’s score will dynamically alter depending on the action on screen, with the utilisation of Intelligent Music Systems; creating a unique musical playthrough each time.
“Music is incredibly important in video games to help create the right atmosphere, mood and tone, and this is especially true for Rise of the Tomb Raider, which is set to be Lara’s biggest and boldest adventure yet,” said Rich Briggs, brand director at Crystal Dynamics. “We love the sound Bobby brings to the game, and we’re excited for fans to join Lara in this adventure when the game launches on November 10.”
Crystal Dynamics recently announced more information on the Rise of the Tomb Raider season pass, real-world purchases, and multiplayer modes. Players can also purchase the new Xbox One Rise of the Tomb Raider Bundle, when Rise of the Tomb Raider launches November 10 on Xbox One; before releasing on PlayStation 4 and PC in 2016.
