Nintendo has announced Pokémon Art Academy will launch for both the Nintendo 3DS and 2DS handhelds July 5.
Pokémon Art Academy will continue the Art Academy series with a Pokémon theme, which will allow fans to learn how to paint, sketch and draw over 40 different lessons worth of Pokémon characters; which include new Pokémon from Pokémon X & Y, alongside old favourites such as Pikachu and Charizard.
Pokémon Art Academy will utilise the Touch Screen to enable easy access to a variety of pencils, pastels and paints; while also introducing a new Outline Pen to provide slick borders on your cartoon drawings. A new Undo feature will also be available, which will allow artists to easily erase several mistakes from their art work and try again.
Players who find they have mastered the abundance of lessons included in Pokémon Art Academy, can continue drawing in Free Paint mode. This mode includes over 100 reference pictures to provide inspiration to the player, while the 3DS Camera can also be used to add more images into the game. Once your art work pieces are complete, players can share them locally with other Pokémon Art Academy players, or share them to Miiverse for others to enjoy.
The Art Academy series first began on the Nintendo DS in 2009, offering a visual art studio and a huge variety of realistically behaving art materials which allow players to improve their drawing abilities.
