Sony has announced that the PlayStation 4 System Software Update 4.0 will officially launch tomorrow.
The 4.0 System Software Update was revealed last month, alongside a plethora of new features that would be included in the new update. PlayStation 4 users will be able to experience a refreshed user interface with new icons and revised notifications, new folder options, an improved and customisable Quick Menu and new Library options.
Sony has revealed more improvements that will be included in the upcoming update. Players will be able to control their music selections without exiting their current game, with the option to control music now available in the Quick Menu. The 4.0 System Update will also provide High Dynamic Range support for standard PlayStation 4 consoles, the PlayStation 4 Slim and the PlayStation 4 Pro. HDR support allows those with HDR enabled monitors to experience realistic and striking visuals that represents how colour is produced through the human eye.
Speaking of the newly announced PlayStation 4 Pro, the new update also allows data transfer between different PlayStation 4 models using a wired LAN connection. Of course, players can simply re-download games and applications tied to their profile, alongside save files through the cloud, but the new option allows for efficient and fast transfer for players looking to update their current PlayStation 4 model.
Make sure to update your PlayStation 4 console tomorrow to experience all the new updates and improvements made to your PlayStation 4.
