Bandai Namco Entertainment Europe has announced Pac-Man 256 has been downloaded over 5 million times since launch.
Pac-Man 256 was developed by Bandai Namco Studios Vancouver and Hipster Whale, both of which are extremely happy with the download numbers. Representatives of both developers have released the following statement, regarding the new download numbers.
“We are quite happy to see such a fantastic start, the game is the top downloaded game in 98 countries for all categories and in 104 countries for game categories including USA, UK and Japan! We want to thank all the individuals involved in this project and above all: our players!”
Pac-Man 256 launched just under two weeks ago on the Google Play Store, Amazon Store and the App Store. It was also revealed Pac-Man would be invading Hipster Whale’s previous release Crossy Road! Players can now play as Pac-Man or as Pac-Chicken (a chicken wearing a Pac-Man shirt), with the sneakiest of players also able to unlock the iconic characters Inky, Blinky, Pinky and Clyde.
