Nordic Games has partnered with Double Fine Productions to publish the retail version of Broken Age for PC, Mac and Linux.
The retail version of the Double Fine developed adventure title will be released simultaneously with the digital version in Spring 2015.
Business & product development director at Nordic Games, Reinhard Pollice praised the publishing deal. “After releasing Costume Quest, Psychonauts and Stacking for retail in 2014, this marks another important step in our almost heist-free cooperation”
Pollice also announced Broken Age will contain all new German voice-overs due to Germany being a “veritable stronghold” for fans of point and click adventures.
Double Fine President and CEO Tim Schafer, also praised the new partnership. “I am very excited about the retail version of Broken Age,” Schafer said “And also relieved, as having a widely distributed, physical copy of the game will make it more safe from solar flares and EMP bombs and stuff like that. As long as people store their disks in fire proof safes. People do that, right?”
Broken Age is the first adventure game by Tim Schafer in sixteen years, after being funded with arecord breaking Kickstarter campaign. It allows players to play as Vella Tartine and Shay Volta, with the ability to freely switch between each of their stories as they both come of age in extremely different worlds.
