New ‘Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edge’ Details Released

Team NINJA has revealed Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edge for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, will include 100 Ninja Trials – the largest in the franchise’s history.

Even more information was released including details on the new weapons the game will offer. Ryu Hayabusa will have access to powerful Dual Swords capable of producing shockwaves, his Lunar Staff when fully upgraded will attach itself with ball-and-chains offering additional chances for combos and also Ryu’s Kusari-Gama allowing players to “pole-vault” over opponents by burying the blades into enemies heads. Ryu is not the ninja to mess with.

Ryu can also enhance his powers with Ninpo such as Piercing Void, which creates an encircling vacuum to cut down opponents, with Cicada Surge able to be used while taking damage at the expense of Ki.

Ryu is not the only one getting additional abilities, with the kunoichi also being equipped with new skills. Ayane has been revamped with Ultimate technique combos including her Phantom Spear technique, when unlocked Momiji posses a long range naginata for devastating attacks and for the first time ever Kasumi is an available character. Once unlocked by clearing Story Mode, players will be able to wield her fast Mugen Tenshin attacks.

The games 100 Ninja Trials will pose a marathon challenge to any skilled ninjas, fighting two Regents of the Mask simultaneously is only a taste of the hardcore challenges the game will offer.

Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edge will release on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 April 11.
