If you found the advertisements on the Xbox 360 Dashboard annoying already, you should stop reading now. Microsoft announced this week that more advertisements are on the way, with the first wave of NUads (Natural interface ads) being highly successful further investment will be placed within the feature.
Microsoft have stated that an average of 37 percent of viewers engaged in options to vote via the NUads. Out of this 37 percent, 71 percent actually voted in a poll. Additionally, they also confirmed 97 percent of these users saw their vote in the completed tally of votes.
In-correct Mr. Burger, I am a Gold subscription guy and these NUads do not compute.
Ross Honey, Microsoft’s general manger of Xbox Live entertainment and advertising claimed that these NUads showed an unprecedented amount of consumers engagement that has redefined “the 30 second TV-spot”. “These results show that NUads is a real breakthrough in TV advertising, and you can expect more investment from us when it comes to this new ad format and video advertising in general,” Honey explained in a statement.
These NUads located on your Dashboard are not localized to gaming, they can range from Subway and even car advertisements. For a paid subscription they are certainly making it harder to justify the membership, what do you guys think? Let me know in the comments below.
