Xbox 360 owners can say goodbye to Microsoft Points starting today when all Points will be converted to real currency.

Microsoft confirmed it would be making the change at E3 earlier this year, but it is now officially underway. Users from regions will be prompted to update their console, which will then convert any existing Points to their local currency equivalent.

This change will also hit the Xbox Live Marketplace, where all games will now be listed with their local real-world costs. Microsoft has stated Points converted will be valid until June 1, 2015 ; but all new currency added to your accounts prior to the transition will not expire.
