Don Mattrick believes the Xbox One is “over-delivering” in value, at the recently announced $499 price point.
“It’s a lower number than some of the analysts had forecasted,” Mattrick told Bloomberg in a video interview
“We’re over-delivering value against other choices I think consumers can get. Any modern product these days you look at it [and] $499 isn’t a ridiculous price point. We’re delivering thousands of dollars of value to people, so I think they’re going to love it when they use it.”
Mattrick went on to speak about the advantages of the Xbox One, which included Xbox Live, Kinect, Skype and the exclusive NFL collaboration.
“We’re delivering thousands of dollars of value to people, so I think they’re going to love it when they use it. We’re really making the living room your centre of fun for your family,”
Microsoft yesterday announced first party games for the Xbox One would stay at the $59.99 standard, with Sony confirming their console will do the same earlier today.
The Xbox One will ship $100 higher than the PlayStation 4, which will ship at $399.
