It seems the critically acclaimed Mass Effect trilogy could be coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles, if a listing by Chilean retailer Zmart Games is to be believed.
The listings were originally spotted by NeoGAF user Rushersauce, which shows the same Mass Effect trilogy compilation that was released at the end of 2012, coming to both next generation platforms. Aside from the box art, there are very few details regarding these possible releases. The listing doesn’t confirm the existence of these next generation releases, however we have reached out to EA all the same and will update this article with any response we receive.
Only last month rumours of a possible next generation release of the trilogy were sparked, when general manager of Bioware’s Edmonton and Montreal studios Aaryn Flynn responded to a fan question. Flynn stated that the idea of bringing the trilogy to next generation hardware had been “discussed” internally, but there were no solid plans.
@shinobi602 @YanickRRoy We have discussed that internally. If we can put solid plans together we'll share. Great to hear you're keen — Aaryn Flynn (@AarynFlynn) March 2, 2014
The Mass Effect trilogy isn’t the only possible next generation release that has been listed by online retailers as of late, with Gamestop recently listing The Walking Dead Season One coming to PlayStation 4.
Bioware is currently working on the latest Mass Effect installment, though very little is known about the title; though it has been said to look “beautiful“. Until then Bioware recently announced the release date for their upcoming RPG Dragon Age Inquisition.
