Capcom has confirmed Lost Planet 3 will release across Australia and New Zealand on August 29, for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and digitally for PC. A retail PC version will launch in stores September 26.
Lost Planet 3 returns the series to E.D.N. III and introduces Jim Peyton, a Utility Rig pilot who leaves Earth to pursue a lucrative but hazardous working contract with Neo-Venus Construction (NEVEC). His position sees him obtaining samples of the planet’s natural energy source called Thermal Energy, which the company believes will save Earth’s energy crisis.
Peyton discovers his new tools are extremely helpful at killing Akrid, with Lost Planet 3 featuring combat inside and out of the Utility Rig. Combat will be third person when outside of the Rig, with a mixture of gun and melee based combat to help survive his enemies.
Lost Planet 3 contain multiplayer, with playing taking control of either the NEVEC forces or the Snow Pirate in up to ten player battles.
