Gamescom: EA Announces ‘Battlefield 4’ Premium Membership & Expansion Details

EA has announced Battlefield 4 Premium, an exclusive membership for the DICE developed Battlefield 4. Premium members will gain access to five digital expansion packs with two weeks of early access.
“Fan reaction to Battlefield 3 Premium has been nothing short of amazing. We are humbled to see more than 4 million people join in,” said Patrick Bach, Executive Producer on Battlefield 4. “With Battlefield 4 Premium we continue to roll out the red carpet, treating our fans like VIPs with a massive amount of new gameplay, exclusive new content and even more benefits at an incredible value.”
The five digital expansion packs have also been revealed and will feature new multiplayer maps and in-game content.
Battlefield 4 Second Assault – Includes four fan-favorite Battlefield 3 maps now re-imagined with the power of Frostbite 3. Available first on Xbox One.
Battlefield 4 China Rising – Players fight for dominance across the vast and majestic Chinese mainland. Available December 2013.
Battlefield 4 Naval Strike – Experience dynamic ocean combat as the Chinese armada takes the fight to the sea. Available Autumn 2014.
Battlefield 4 Dragon’s Teeth – The US strikes back engaging in all-out urban warfare. Available Winter 2014.
Battlefield 4 Final Stand – Bring the war to its epic conclusion. Available Winter 2014.
Premium members will also gain access to unique personalisation options (camos, paints, emblems, dogtags, etc.), priority positions in servers, new content each week, 12 bonus Battlefield 4 packs and their membership will transfer between current generation and next generation (Xbox 360 – Xbox One, PlayStation 3 – PlayStation 4).
During EA’s Gamescom press conference earlier today it was also announced the Battlefield 4 multiplayer beta will begin in early October for Battlefield 3 Premium members, players who pre-order Battlefield 4 Digital Deluxe Edition and players who received exclusive access with their purchase of last year’s Medal of Honor for three days. Before an open-beta is released featuring the Siege of Shanghai map, featuring Conquest mode.
Battlefield 4 will release on October 29th (North America and Brazil), October 31st (Australia and Japan), November 1st (Europe), and November 6th (Philippines), on the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC. PlayStation 4 and Xbox One owners will also receive Battlefield 4, alongside the launch of their respective systems.
