Update: While iOS owners are enjoying Fallout Shelter as we speak, Android owners may be wondering where their version of Fallout Shelter is? Turns out the information given during Bethesda’s E3 conference, was not 100% accurate regarding the release details.
Bethesda’s Vice President of PR and Marketing Pete Hines has taken to Twitter to confirm that the Android version is indeed coming, but Bethesda will have information regarding the information soon. In further tweets Hines stated that this is not a timed exclusive, and that Fallout Shelter has simply not launched on Android devices as yet.
May need to give iTunes a little time for it to update. It'll be up there. We will have info later about Android version. — Pete Hines (@DCDeacon) June 15, 2015
Original Story: Bethesda has announced Fallout Shelter for mobile and tablet devices, and it will be available later tonight.
In Fallout Shelter players will be able to manage their own Vault, in a similar vein to games such as F.T.L and XCOM. Players will manage the Vault dwellers within their Vault, such as equipping weapons, sending them on missions and collecting resources.
Vault dwellers will level up and their experience system is similar to the leveling up system in the Fallout series. For example, spending time at the bar will raise your charisma. Players can also increase their Vault dweller capacity by couple up members of the Vault, who can then have children.
Fallout Shelter is a free experience that will not contain any wait times, internet connection or pay walls. However, players will be able to purchase new items known as lunchboxes if they wish.
