It appears Square Enix may have trademarked a brand new Deus Ex game, the trademark was filed on February 26 by the company.

The title that was trademarked is ‘Deus Ex: Human Defiance’, leading us to believe it could be a direct sequel to Human Revolution. Which followed the events of Adam Jensen, who is saved from a near-death experience with the use of augmentation.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution was released in August 2011, to much critical praise. Though being known as one of the quietest months  in the gaming calendar, it has still shipped over 2 million copies. With so much interest in the Deus Ex franchise, it wasn’t a huge surprise it would be seen again.

With the announcement of the PlayStation 4, could this be another title that we see coming to next generation consoles? With the game only being trademarked so recently, the game could be a ways off, but for Deus Ex fans (Such as myself) this is interesting news.
