Relic Entertainment has announced the Open Beta for Company of Heroes 2, will launch today and run until June 18.
The Open Beta will feature competitive and co-operative multiplayer, over six of the games multiplayer maps. Players will also be able to test the first 45 levels of the game’s progressions and bulletin system. All participants will retain their progression and unlocks if they purchase the full game within 60 day of launch through the same Steam account used for the beta.
Greg Wilson, Producer of Company of Heroes 2 commented: “We have been working hard since the Closed Beta balancing and improving all areas of the game as well as adding new matchmaking servers. COH2 has had one of the most successful Beta programs we’ve ever run at Relic and the support of the fans has been a critical factor in making the game more balanced and stable for launch.”
Company of Heroes 2 will run on the Essence 3.0 Engine, using the realistic ColdTech weather system, the dynamic line of sight system TrueSight and feature realistic Destructibility.
Relic has also released a new trailer, showcasing some of the chaotic tank warfare that players will experience.
Company of Heroes 2 will release June 25, exclusively on PC. Those who pre-order the Red Star Edition will gain access to many multiplayer extras when the game is released.
