California Senator Dianne Feinstein has expressed her thoughts on video games being linked to recent shootings, stating she believes Congress should step in to control the industry if it doesn’t change.

Feinstein stated gaming has  “a very negative role for young people, and the industry ought to take note of that.” further explaining, “If Sandy Hook doesn’t do it, if the knowledge of these video games this young man played doesn’t, then maybe we have to proceed, but that is in the future.”

Information was released after the Sandy Hook shooting, that the man responsible for the despicable crime was an avid gamer. With his favourite games Call of Duty and Dynasty Warriors, becoming the blame for his actions.

This isn’t the first time we have heard about gaming violence over the last few months, with Connecticut originally planning to host a public burning of violent games, Ralph Nader expressing his displeasure against the medium and President Obama holding providing funds to examine the violence in video games.
