Developer Metalhead Software has announced Super Mega Baseball will be coming to Xbox One and Steam this summer, in the form of Super Mega Baseball: Extra Innings.

Super Mega Baseball: Extra Innings will feature everything from the original PlayStation 4 release, alongside new content, which includes two new stadiums, enhanced gameplay features and an improve baseball simulation. Metalhead also confirmed the new content will be coming to the already released PlayStation 4 version, in the form of a new update or free DLC.

“Right now there are few options for quality, accessible sports titles on the market, particularly when it comes to baseball games on the Xbox One and PC,” said Metalhead Co-founder Scott Drader. “We’re really looking to put this genre back on the map for more casual fans, especially the younger generation of gamers who haven’t had access to the types of games that were common during their parents’ generation. Games that could introduce a sport to the uninitiated and turn them into fans for life.”

Super Mega Baseball has a comical presentation, but has been critically praised for providing solid baseball controls, alongside some excellent cooperative and competitive modes for up to four players locally. There is enough challenge for seasoned veterans, while also providing a gentle introduction for beginners.
