In 1941 the famous “Four Freedoms” speech was given by President Franklin Delano Roosevelt. This speech laid out the quartet of fundamental liberties that the people “everywhere in the world” should hold to their name as soon as they are born. The four freedoms that the world still struggles to uphold are as follows.
Freedom of speech and expression
Freedom of worship
Freedom from want
Freedom from fear
Sam has the Fifth Freedom, once more
Even though the Four Freedoms were considered in high regard, many knew that there would be times where these freedoms would need to be defends, against evil, against terror and against those who seeks to destroy them. The Fifth element was then created, giving the person the right and responsibility to do whatever they can to protect the values of the Four Freedoms. Even if it involves killing, stealing or destroying for the greater good. The President of the United States is the only person, who may offer the fifth Freedom to any individual who is skilled and trustworthy enough to receive it. No man has received it twice, until now.
Trusty Snake Cam
Sam Fisher originally received the asset of Fifth Freedom as a prototype for the Splinter Cell program. At that current time things were looking grim and Third Echelon needed an agent who has knowledge of cutting edge technology, but also the old fashioned trade-craft Sam possessed. Sam defended the United States against biological weaponry, against cyber-warfare and domestic terrorists, before he decided to walk away.
Stalking his prey
However now the stakes are at high risk once again as America is being targeted once again, no one anywhere is safe. The President has no one to trust, no one with the ability to challenge the Blacklist organization, until Sam agrees to take the Fifth Freedom once more.
Splinter Cell: Blacklist will make an appearance on shelves early next year on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC.
