Deep Silver has announced the next instalment in the Sacred franchise, Sacred 3, and it will be coming to PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC this summer.

Sacred 3 will see players return to the realm of Ancaria, where they must form to try and defeat the deadly evil. Gameplay will be centered around drop in-drop out cooperative multiplayer, which will feature 2 player offline and 4 player online playthroughs. Fans of the series will be able to enjoy the classic hack ‘n ‘ slash action as well kn own characters, with the return of Seraphim, Ancarian, Khukuhru and the Safiri, as well as the inclusion of a new character known as Malakhim.

“The paramount development goal for Sacred 3 has been to create a seamless online and offline co-op experience”, said Remy van Leeuwen, Brand Manager of Deep Silver. “By creating a game built around the central concept of co-op gameplay, we’re expanding the series to new audiences without compromising the rich lore and fantasy of the Sacred universe.”

Each character can be upgraded to fit the play style of each player, alongside the inclusion of mission statistics and both online and local leaderboards, which will encourage team work and anarchy as players strive to be number one.
