Capcom has announced a Resident Evil 0 remaster is currently in development and scheduled to release in early 2016.

The announcement was made at an event in Japan, where it was confirmed the remastered version of Resident Evil 0 will release for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and PC.

The original Resident Evil 0 Director Koji Oda and additional staff from the original development team will be returning for the remastered development.

Capcom also confirmed more information on the upcoming remaster will be revealed in the coming weeks, but until then a video was released (featured above) with Producer Tsukasa Takenaka and Director Koji Oda briefly discussing the upcoming project.

Resident Evil 0 was originally released on Nintendo Gamecube in 2002, before being re-release on the Nintendo Wii in Japan, and later came to North America as the Resident Evil Archives. Resident Evil 0 is a prequel to the events of the original Resident Evil.
