Bandai Namco Entertainment has announced Pac-Man 256, a free-to-play game available for smartphones and tablets in 2015.
Pac-Man 256 is developed by Bandai Namco Studios Vancouver and Cross Road developer Hipster Whale, featuring an endless maze as players are chased by the infamous “256 Glitch”. Pac-Man 256 has been built as a modern day mobile experience and will feature all the iconic Pac-Man features, such as Pac-Dots, Power Pellets and the ghostly team of Blinky, Pinky, Inky and Clyde.
“This year, we are celebrating Pac-Man’s 35th Anniversary and we couldn’t miss such an opportunity,” said Tatsuya Kubota, Head of Mobile & Web Gaming at Bandai Namco Entertainment Europe. “We decided to create a brand new exciting game with Hipster Whale and Bandai Namco Studios Vancouver. This results in a stirring game based on some elements that made history,”
The first gameplay footage and screenshots of Pac-Man 256 are available above, and Analog Addiction will have more on Pac-Man 256 as Pac-Man continues to celebrate his 35th birthday.
