‘Life is Strange’ Final Dev Diary, Launch Trailer Released

Life is Strange is on the cusp of releasing for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC, which means there is no better time to release the final installment of the Life is Strange developer diary series and the official launch trailer.

In the final video developer Dontnod Entertainment explains how they created Arcadia Bay, the small American town that Life is Strange takes place. In order to get the visual appearance just right the team used Google Street View to make sure they were doing the region Arcadia Bay is set feel real.

The development team also explains the process that was undertaken to create a perfect musical accompaniment that resonated with the indie film vibe of Life is Strange, which meant including licensed tracks (you can listen to the full soundtrack here) from bands such as Angus and Julia Stone, Alt-J and Jose Gonzales. Dontnod also worked till the early morning in order watch the American voice actors record their dialogue sessions from their France-based studio.

Life is Strange will follow the story of Max Caulfield, a young student who has discovered she has the power to rewind time. Max returns to her hometown of Arcadia Bay after years away, meeting up with her old friend Chloe. Both friends work together in order find out what happened to Chloe’s close friend Rachael Amber, who has gone missing.

Life is Strange is a five part episodic series, with episode one releasing January 30 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC. Dontnod Entertainment also recently released the PC specifications for Life is Strange, available here.
