The release date for Gravity Rush 2 has been announced, alongside a Gravity Rush anime and new character reveal.

The announcement was made on the PlayStation Blog, where it was revealed Gravity Rush 2 will release November 30 in Europe and December 2 in North America.

Fans who pre-order Gravity Rush 2 from participating retailers will receive an alternate white costume for Kat, alongside the Select Soundtrack featuring nine tracks from the game. Those who pre-order via the PlayStation Store starting August 2 will also receive an instant reward of 10 PSN avatars from Gravity Rush 2, while European players will also receive a PlayStation 4 theme.

Gravity Rush 2 will continue the story of gravity shifter Kat, and her allies Raven and Syd, alongside a host of new characters. One of the new faces was also revealed, known as Angel. Angel is a superheroine who will show up to help Kat when she’s in a bind, utilising an aggressive and wild fighting style to overwhelm foes. Angel also has a crystallisation ability that allows her to regenerate health instantly; but don’t take my word for it check out Angel in action in the new gameplay trailer (see above).

Alongside the release date announcement, it was revealed Gravity Rush will also have its own anime titled Gravity Rush The Animation ~ Overture ~ the animation will bridge the gap from the original release and Gravity Rush 2. The anime will be produced by Studio Khara, the studio behind Rebuild of Evangelion. More information on the upcoming anime will be revealed prior to launch.

Gravity Rush 2 was showcased during E3 2016, with an all new gameplay trailer; but the release date was clearly absent. Are you happy to know Kat’s latest adventure will arrive on PlayStation 4 before the end of 2016? Until then check out our review of the PlayStation 4 Gravity Rush Remastered release from earlier this year.
