2K and Gearbox Software have announced Borderlands: The Handsome Collection, which brings both Borderlands 2 and Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel along with every downloadable content pack for both titles to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on March 24 in North America and March 26 in Australia and New Zealand.

Borderlands: The Handsome Collection bundles together the story of Handsome Jack, which takes place over both installments in the franchise; but doesn’t include the original Borderlands. The collection will also be the first time in the franchises history that four play split screen will be available, utilising the new power of next generation hardware.

Both games will include high resolution visuals and will also allow for players to transfer their previous save files to the next generation versions with cross save functionality. Though players will only be able to transfer their PlayStation 3 save to PlayStation 4, and Xbox 360 to Xbox One, with no cross family transferring available.

“The Handsome Collection gives players the opportunity to experience the full arc of Handsome Jack’s rise and fall, from his not-so-humble beginnings on Elpis to becoming the tyrannical Hyperion CEO on Pandora, all in one value-packed bundle,” said Christoph Hartmann, President of 2K.

“This collection marks the Borderlands franchise’s official move to the next-gen platforms, and we’re proud to offer our fans the ability to continue playing with the characters they’ve built as they carry on adventuring in The Handsome Collection.”

Alongside the announcement was the reveal of a very limited collector’s edition, known as the Borderlands: The Handsome Collection Claptrap-in-a-Box Edition. This edition will include a remote controlled Claptrap robot, a collectable steel case, and 12 exclusive lithographs. The remote controlled Claptrap can be controlled through a smartphone app and will also deliver memorable Claptrap lines, while live streaming video to a mobile device can be done through his eye.

Only 5,000 Borderlands: The Handsome Collection Claptrap-in-a-Box Edition’s will be made available worldwide, with pre-orders available today at selected retailers for $499.95.
